Improv Workshops
James Dwyer has been improvising now for over 12 years. James has trained primarily at UCBNY where he now regularly teaches. As a performer he has appeared on Harold Night, The Law Firm, ASSSSCAT, A Big Dumb Thing, Strife, "One Man Harold" and countless other shows over the years. James has also toured extensively with the UCB Touring Company and taught workshops across the country on long form improvisation.
As an improv teacher and director James' approach is to direct feedback intended to guide you towards success in your scenework. It's important to remember that what we are doing is -- most of the time -- extremely stupid. I mean you're making it up on the spot and expecting it to make sense. So he encouarages his students to give themselves permission to take risks and fail often while learning the discipline to build a clear, hilarious scene with their scene partners. James' workshops tend to focus on stagecraft and performance, the game of the scene, finding your inner freak or experimental performance.
James also offers improv workshops for a corporate setting. If you're interested in a workshop for you group you can read more information on that here.
